Madhya Pradesh to Implement Board-Exam Pattern for Class 5 and 8 From 2025–26 Session

MP Class 5 & 8 Exams 2026 Update: The Rajya Shiksha Kendra Madhya Pradesh (RSKMP) has officially announced that Class 5 and Class 8 examinations in the state will now be conducted following a board-examination pattern starting from the 2025–2026 academic session.

To facilitate the smooth conduct of examinations, the state has established 12,920 examination centres across Madhya Pradesh. Approximately 25 lakh students are expected to appear for these exams from 86,109 government schools, 23,980 non-government schools, and 525 madrasas. The Class 5 and 8 examinations will be held between February 20 and February 28, 2026.

Separate Language Question Papers for Select Schools

State Education Center Director Harjinder Singh informed that separate language question papers have been prepared for 20,736 students from 522 private schools, in accordance with the NCERT syllabus. For all remaining subjects, the question papers will be based on state-prescribed textbooks.

Provision for Unregistered Students

Harjinder Singh further clarified that all eligible students will be allowed to appear for the examinations, even if they have not completed the registration process. The required online details of such students will be entered by the respective examination centre heads after the conclusion of the exams, ensuring no student is deprived of the opportunity to appear.

Dedicated IT Portal for Exam Management

To ensure transparency and efficiency, the Madhya Pradesh School Education Department has developed a dedicated IT portal specifically for board exam management. Through this platform, multiple critical processes will be handled online, including:

  • Student verification
  • Examination centre allocation
  • Centre head mapping
  • Distribution of examination materials

In addition, the entire examination workflow—from roll number generation and admit card issuance to attendance tracking, answer-sheet evaluation, and mark-sheet preparation—will be managed digitally through the portal.
